11-Day Great Migration Safari & Zanzibar

Destination: Arusha Meet the Pori & Beyond Safaris team on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport and transfer to your hotel. This first day is deliberately light so you can recover from the international journey, review the route with the safari team and confirm luggage, dietary and flight details. If arrival is early, a gentle optional Arusha activity can be arranged, but the itinerary does not force a long park transfer on the same day.

Destination: Serengeti Transfer to the airport for a scheduled light-aircraft flight into the Serengeti. On landing, meet the safari guide and begin wildlife viewing directly from the airstrip, turning the transfer to camp into the first game drive. Flying removes a long road sector and is especially useful for short itineraries. Exact departure times, baggage limits and airstrip routing remain subject to the operating airline.

Destination: Serengeti Follow a seasonally positioned Serengeti safari plan. The preferred sector may be Ndutu and the southern plains in the calving period, central or western areas during transitional months, or northern Serengeti during the dry-season migration period. The route is chosen for your dates rather than marketed as one fixed wildlife location. The full day is kept flexible so the guide can respond to current herd information and road conditions.

The guide follows current animal movement rather than a rigid circuit, with time around kopjes, river valleys and open plains. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes and large plains-game herds are possible, but no specific sighting is guaranteed. Lunch can be taken in the field or at camp according to the day plan.

Destination: Serengeti / Ngorongoro Begin with wildlife viewing in the Serengeti before travelling toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey changes gradually from open plains to cooler highlands and should be treated as a transfer-and-game-drive day rather than a short road hop. Depending on timing, optional cultural or archaeological stops can be quoted separately. Arrive near the crater rim or Karatu with enough time to rest before the crater safari.

Destination: Ngorongoro / Arusha Descend to the Ngorongoro Crater floor for a focused safari among grassland, wetlands and forest patches inside the caldera. The crater supports a dense concentration of wildlife and offers strong opportunities for buffalo, lion, zebra, wildebeest, hippo and, with luck, black rhino. After a picnic lunch and final game drive, climb back to the highlands and continue to Arusha. Driving time varies with traffic, road conditions and the length of the crater visit.
